Sorry for the delays folks. I’ve been massively sick this month, and it’s been awful. Kiddo’s been sick too. Started around the beginning of the month, and I was getting better then a week in it just hit me a second time.

Been awhile since I’ve been super sick but apparently when your kid starts day care you’re bound to get a number of diseases. Thankfully I got better meds than Snake did on the Tanker.

Anyway, second half of the month is my partner and my daughter’s birthdays. She turns 1 today, actually, which is surreal to me. I have a couple more weeks of business, including some nicer plans, and then it’ll be back to the project.

Trust me, I’m missing the hacking quite a bit. But, I’ve also been dreading a massive cleanup I need to do. Some problems keep arising from my crazy folder structure, and while it’s good the way it is now, some of the junk files just needs to get archived. Using LLMs for coding has massively changed/improved things, and I’m less focused on doing it all myself. I do insist on understanding all of the code though so that I can be sure it’s correct.

That said, as it grows, there are many places that could stand to be improved. My assets directories make sense, but when the code is one additional level deep in the project, it makes it more difficult to maintain.

Further, all of my notes documentation on the DAT file structures are in a journals area where my notes on features are kept, but I want them to sync automatically over to the website (because everything is native to .md in both the docs and the website.)

We’ll get there, but my time is limited to only end of day, and things have been so hectic I usually just resign myself to an hour or so chunk of MGS Delta. I finally got around to playing it, and I’m doing so on a Steam Machine, which is a nice way to cap off my long days (Besides a few days off, I’m back at work through the latter half of my cold).

Either way, good things to come. I may as well let you all know, with the completion of (most) dialogue in disk 1, I had planned on doing a full recording of myself playing through that disk and noting any action items to go back and address. It’ll definitely be on Youtube but i was considering streaming to the discord as well. If that’s something that interests you, hit me up there and we’ll find a good time.

In the meantime, I’ve got the last few days of meds, and thankfully im almost all healed up. Just a few more big weekends and then I’m back to it.
